Quick Facts
We have many years of experience in organising this challenge. Our 3 Peaks events are available to individuals or small groups every weekend from May to October. The dates are listed under the Book Now button.
We also provide bespoke and exclusive events for groups of 8 or more on any date you wish throughout the year, conditions permitting. Weather and mountain conditions mean this event is most suitable between May and October. However, if you’re aiming to attempt the challenge in winter conditions, please let us know, and we can consider a bespoke private event.
Experienced mountain guides will lead you during your 3 Peaks event. The fee includes transport from Manchester onwards to the start of the event (You can meet us in Glasgow if you prefer.) and hotel accommodation the night before the event.
The 3 Peaks is 26 miles (42 km) total horizontal distance, 3,000m (9,843 ft) vertical ascent.
There are pick-up and drop-off options along the route, providing you with several different options – choose the most convenient. (See our Transport section for further details)
We adhere to all road traffic safety regulations for obvious reasons with expert driving teams with experience of the 3 Peaks and its demands. The aim is to complete the challenge within 24 hours; some groups will take less time, others more. The fitter you and your group are, the more likely you will fulfill the challenge in good time. It is vital to have a good base level of fitness!
About & Details
The 3 Peaks Challenge is just that, a challenge. Climb the highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales in ‘one go.’ Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England, and Snowdon in Wales. (Other bespoke options are available, including the challenge from ‘South to North’. To discuss alternatives or any ideas you may have, feel free to call our friendly team.)
Travel to Fort William on a Friday, ascend Ben Nevis on Saturday morning, climb Scafell Pike that night and finish with Snowdon on Sunday in Wales. This is a demanding event, and participants should have the necessary fitness and be prepared to cope with little sleep! If you aim to complete within 24 hours, we will need to climb Ben Nevis in 51⁄2 hours, Scafell Pike in 41⁄2 hours, and Snowdon in 4 hours. The standard for measuring your official total time is ‘mountain time’ plus a fixed 10 hour ‘drive time’. Qualified mountain leaders support the challenge, and a support driver will be with you all of the journey. We’ll do everything we can to ensure you complete the challenge as quickly as possible.
Over the years, we have enabled thousands of people to conquer the 3 Peaks, and we’d be delighted to help you! We offer this event over a more relaxed timescale. So, if you wish to undertake this challenge but prefer to sleep between each climb see our 3 Day 3 Peaks option.
